Description
It is the world’s hardiest warm-season cereal crop. It can survive and produce grain even on the least fertile soils in the driest regions, on highly acidic and saline soils, and in the hottest climates.
Pearl millet is highly nutritious, with 8–19% protein, low starch, high fiber (1.2 g/100 g). It has higher mineral content (iron and zinc) than compared to our other common staples, rice and wheat.
It also has significant amounts of antioxidants to combat the free radicles.
